Senior Site Reliability Engineer (AWS CDK)

£65,000 - £75,000 | Sponsorship available in some circumstances

VIQU have partnered with a leading UK technology organisation undergoing significant investment in its cloud platform and engineering capability. As they continue to scale, they are looking to appoint a Senior Site Reliability Engineer to help shape the future of their AWS infrastructure, improve platform resilience and mentor a growing engineering team.

This is a hands-on technical leadership role, with approximately 80% focused on engineering and 20% on mentoring and supporting other engineers. You'll play a key role in driving best practice across cloud infrastructure, automation, reliability and operational excellence while helping to develop the wider SRE function.

Key Responsibilities

Design, build and maintain scalable, secure AWS infrastructure using AWS CDK.
Drive improvements across platform reliability, automation and infrastructure as code.
Lead the implementation of CI/CD best practices to improve software delivery.
Enhance monitoring, observability and incident management across cloud environments.
Collaborate with engineering teams to improve performance, resilience and operational efficiency.
Mentor and coach engineers, promoting SRE and DevOps best practices.
Contribute to technical direction, architecture discussions and continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Requirements

Proven experience in a Senior Site Reliability Engineer, Platform Engineer or DevOps Engineer position.
Strong commercial AWS experience.
AWS CDK experience is essential.
Strong programming experience in TypeScript or Python.
Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines.
Knowledge of containerisation technologies such as Kubernetes, Amazon EKS or ECS.
Experience with monitoring and observability tooling such as Grafana, Prometheus, OpenSearch or similar.
Strong understanding of cloud security, resilience and infrastructure automation.
Previous experience mentoring engineers or providing technical leadership.
