We are seeking an experienced and dedicated individual to join a busy quality team in a fast-paced food production environment as a Quality Manager. This is a hands-on leadership role offering the opportunity to take ownership of quality control and assurance processes for chilled products.
This position is ideal for someone looking to lead a team, drive continuous improvement, and play a key role in upholding food safety and quality standards during backshift operations.
Key Responsibilities
Take ownership of quality control activities across the chilled product range throughout the backshift
Build and maintain robust quality assurance procedures that meet regulatory and internal standards
Guide and coach the quality team, offering hands-on training and ongoing support
Carry out inspections, audits, and quality checks to spot opportunities for improvement
Work closely with production and supply chain colleagues to resolve quality concerns and boost process performance
Review quality metrics and data trends, presenting findings and improvement recommendations to senior leadership
Keep stakeholders clearly informed on quality standards and compliance matters
Requirements
Confident leadership style, with the ability to guide and inspire a team toward shared goals
Comfortable working with data, drawing out insights and translating them into clear reports
Strong people skills, able to communicate clearly with colleagues at all levels
Flexible approach to backshift working, with a proactive attitude to resolving issues as they arise
Experience & Qualifications
Background in quality management within a food manufacturing setting, ideally with chilled/fresh product lines
Solid grasp of quality assurance fundamentals, food safety legislation, and relevant industry benchmarks
Track record of running audits and putting quality control measures into practice
Comfortable using quality management systems and standard Microsoft Office tools
HACCP qualification and familiarity with BRC standards would be an advantage
