We are working in partnership with a welcoming and inclusive primary school in Milton Keynes that is seeking a dedicated 1:1 SEND Teaching Assistant to support a Year 2 pupil from September 2026. This is a highly rewarding role where you will play a key part in a child's educational journey by providing consistent, tailored support throughout the school day.
This position would suit someone with experience in education, childcare, care work, or support settings who is patient, empathetic, and committed to helping children reach their full potential.
What You'll Be Doing
Providing dedicated 1:1 support for a Year 2 pupil with special educational needs
Supporting access to learning activities both inside and outside the classroom
Working closely with the class teacher, SENDCo, and parents to ensure consistent support
Implementing strategies outlined in the pupil's EHCP or individual support plan
Encouraging development of communication, social skills, confidence, and independence
Supporting emotional regulation and promoting positive behaviour for learning
Adapting activities and resources to meet the child's individual needs
Monitoring progress and providing feedback to teaching staff
We're Looking For Someone Who
Has a genuine passion for supporting children with SEND
Is patient, nurturing, and empathetic in their approach
Can build strong, trusting relationships with young children
Has good communication and teamwork skills
Is proactive, flexible, and able to respond to changing needs
Ideally has experience supporting children with autism, ADHD, speech and language needs, SEMH, or additional learning needs
Is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
