We’re recruiting for an experienced Mechanical Project Manager to join one of Europe’s leading data centre contractors on a major mission-critical project based in Blyth, England.

This is a senior delivery role responsible for managing the full mechanical scope across a large-scale hyperscale data centre project, ensuring safe, high-quality, and on-programme delivery from construction through to commissioning and handover.

As Mechanical Project Manager, you will lead mechanical delivery teams, subcontractors, and engineering staff while coordinating closely with design, commercial, and site management teams to ensure successful project execution.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and oversee all mechanical installation activities across the project.
• Ensure delivery of mechanical works in line with programme, budget, and specifications.
• Lead mechanical site teams including engineers, supervisors, and subcontractors.
• Drive short-term and long-term planning (weekly & 12-week lookaheads).
• Monitor progress against programme and manage critical milestone activities.
• Coordinate mechanical design, installation, and commissioning interfaces.
• Chair weekly coordination and progress meetings with key stakeholders.
• Manage subcontractor performance, productivity, and resource levels.
• Review scope changes, variations, and commercial impacts with project teams.
• Ensure strict compliance with HSE, QA/QC, and project standards.
• Resolve technical and installation issues on site.
• Prepare weekly reports covering progress, risks, delays, and key issues.
• Support commissioning, testing, and project handover activities.
• Drive continuous improvement, productivity, and site efficiency.

Requirements

• 10+ years’ experience in mechanical project delivery on large-scale construction projects.
• Strong background in Data Centre, Industrial, Commercial, or Mission Critical projects preferred.
• Trade or Engineering qualification in Mechanical discipline.
• Strong technical knowledge of HVAC, piping, and mechanical systems.
• Proven experience managing subcontractors and multidisciplinary site teams.
• Strong understanding of construction sequencing, planning, and project controls.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to manage fast-paced, high-value construction environments.
