We’re recruiting for an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join a leading European data centre contractor on a major hyperscale project based in Blyth, England.

This is a key commercial role within a large-scale mission-critical construction project, responsible for managing cost control, subcontractor packages, procurement, valuations, and commercial reporting from construction through to final account.

As Quantity Surveyor, you will work closely with project management, site teams, design, and clients to ensure strong commercial performance across multiple packages while supporting successful project delivery.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage subcontract procurement from tender stage through to award.
• Prepare, review, and analyse subcontractor tender returns.
• Manage subcontract packages through full lifecycle to final account.
• Carry out valuations, remeasurement, and monthly payment applications.
• Prepare monthly cost reports, forecasts, and commercial reporting.
• Manage variations, change orders, and cost tracking.
• Handle claims, notices, and contractual correspondence.
• Attend commercial, client, and subcontractor meetings.
• Measure works from drawings and apply rates for pricing and valuation.
• Support project teams with cost advice and commercial strategy.
• Assist in closing out final accounts and commercial settlements.

Requirements

• 5+ years’ experience as a Quantity Surveyor in a main contractor environment.
• Strong experience in large-scale construction projects (Data Centre / Industrial / Infrastructure preferred).
• Degree or qualification in Quantity Surveying or related field.
• Strong understanding of subcontract management, procurement, and cost control.
• Excellent negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
• Strong analytical ability and attention to detail.
• Experience working in fast-paced project environments.
