Quantity Surveyor
Location: London & South East (Hybrid/Site Based)
Salary: Up to £60,000 + Car Allowance + Benefits
An established and growing construction and development contractor is seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join its commercial team. With a strong pipeline of projects across the residential, education, healthcare, care and commercial sectors, this is an excellent opportunity to join a business that values collaboration, quality and long-term career development.
The successful candidate will work alongside experienced project and commercial teams, managing the financial and contractual aspects of construction projects from pre-construction through to final account.
Key responsibilities include:
* Managing project costs and budgets to ensure commercial success.
* Preparing cost plans, valuations, applications for payment and final accounts.
* Procuring subcontractors and managing tender processes.
* Negotiating subcontract agreements and assessing variations.
* Monitoring project expenditure and producing accurate cost forecasts.
* Identifying and managing commercial risks and opportunities.
* Administering subcontractor accounts and payments.
* Working closely with project managers, site teams and clients to achieve successful project delivery.
* Maintaining accurate commercial records and reporting throughout the project lifecycle.
The ideal candidate will have:
* Previous experience as a Quantity Surveyor within the construction industry.
* A strong understanding of JCT contracts and construction procurement.
* Excellent commercial awareness and contractual knowledge.
* Strong negotiation, communication and relationship-building skills.
* The ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities.
* A proactive, organised and solutions-focused approach.
* A full UK driving licence.
* A degree in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline (preferred).
Experience delivering projects within residential, affordable housing, education, healthcare or commercial construction would be advantageous.
