TSA Surveying is working with an established multi-disciplinary consultancy is looking to appoint a Building Surveyor to join its expanding team. The opportunity is suited to both Chartered Building Surveyors (MRICS) and candidates progressing towards Chartership, with full support available for APC development.
Working across a diverse range of projects, you will provide professional building surveying services from initial inspection through to project completion, delivering practical, high-quality solutions for a varied client portfolio.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare and submit planning and building regulations applications
Produce specifications for tender, carry out tender analysis, and issue reports
Support senior staff in Party Wall matters (as adjoining owner’s surveyor, building owner’s surveyor, or agreed surveyor)
Manage projects, including stock condition surveys and EPCs
Assist with contract administration duties under JCT and other contract forms
Undertake site inspections, surveys, and defect diagnosis
Carry out detailed site investigations (including opening-up and testing)
Produce accurate, high-quality reports (condition, defect, feasibility) with recommendations
Monitor project progress and attend/chair meetings with clients and stakeholders
Ensure compliance with Health & Safety policies and procedure
Candidate Requirements
Degree qualified in Building Surveying or a related construction discipline.
Chartered (MRICS) or actively progressing towards Chartership.
Previous experience within a consultancy environment.
Sound technical knowledge of building construction, pathology and defect diagnosis.
Experience producing specifications, schedules of work and technical reports.
Good understanding of Planning legislation and Building Regulations.
Experience administering building contracts, particularly JCT contracts.
Strong project management and organisational skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to build effective client relationships.
Experience of Party Wall matters would be advantageous.
Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.What's on Offer
