We're excited to be working with a charming School in Waltham Forest, who are looking to welcome a dedicated SEMH Teaching Assistant to their supportive team from September 2026.
This is a fantastic full-time, long-term opportunity running until July 2027, making it ideal for experienced SEMH/SEN Learning Support Assistants as well as graduates looking to build a rewarding career in education.
The Role
As an SEMH Teaching Assistant, you'll play a key role in supporting pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, helping them to engage with learning, build confidence and achieve their full potential.
Your responsibilities will include:
Providing tailored support to pupils both in and out of the classroom.
Working 1:1 and with small groups to encourage positive learning and behaviour.
Building strong, trusting relationships with children to support their emotional wellbeing.
Working closely with teachers and the wider pastoral team to create a positive learning environment.
Celebrating every achievement, no matter how big or small.We're Looking For
We're keen to hear from candidates who:
Have experience supporting children or young people with SEMH and/or SEN, or
Are enthusiastic graduates looking to gain valuable school-based experience.
Are patient, resilient and able to remain calm under pressure.
Have excellent communication skills and enjoy working as part of a team.
Are passionate about helping children succeed both academically and personally.

Competitive daily pay of £92-£120, depending on experience.
September 2026 start.
Full-time, long-term role until July 2027.
