Nelson Permanent Placements are working with our client recruiting for an Operations Manager.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Operations Manager to oversee the daily running of a busy warehouse operation. You will lead warehouse teams, maintain high standards of safety and performance, and ensure operations run efficiently while delivering excellent service.

Key Responsibilities of an Operations Manager:

* Manage the day-to-day running of warehouse operations.

* Lead, motivate and support Warehouse Managers, Team Leaders and warehouse staff.

* Ensure all health and safety policies and procedures are followed.

* Complete and review monthly health and safety reports and warehouse inspections.

* Maintain stock accuracy and high-quality operational standards.

* Plan for new products and changing warehouse demands.

* Ensure staffing levels meet operational requirements.

* Monitor warehouse performance and ensure targets and deadlines are achieved.

* Promote compliance with company procedures and quality standards.

* Communicate effectively with all departments and teams.

* Support site maintenance and facilities requirements.

* Manage warehouse consumables and control associated costs.

* Ensure material handling equipment is maintained, inspected and legally compliant.

* Oversee third-party contractors, including onsite security providers.

* Drive continuous improvement across warehouse operations.

To be considered for this role as an Operations Manager:

* Previous experience managing a warehouse or distribution centre is essential.

* Proven experience as an Operations Manager or Site Manager.

* Experience leading large teams and achieving operational targets.

* Strong knowledge of warehouse health and safety requirements.

* Good communication and leadership skills.

* Experience using Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) is advantageous.

* Strong problem-solving and organisational skills.

* Knowledge of Lean, Six Sigma or other continuous improvement methods is desirable.

* GCSEs in English and Maths (Grade 4/C or above) or equivalent experience.

* Competitive salary of £51,000 - £54,000 Depending on experience.

* 2 roles available, either 6am- 3pm or 1pm – 10pm (shift allowance for nights).
