Job Title: Materials Expeditor (6-Month Fixed-Term Contract)

Location: Fareham

Hours: Monday - Thursday 7am - 4.00pm - Friday 7am - 11am

Salary: Competitive salary of £38,000 per annum (pro rata)

Contract: 6-Month Fixed-Term Contract

Overview

An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Materials Expeditor to join a busy Supply Chain team on a 6-month fixed-term contract. This role is responsible for ensuring the timely supply of materials and components to support production schedules and customer demand within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

Expedite materials and components to ensure production requirements are met.

Monitor supplier deliveries and proactively chase outstanding purchase orders.

Liaise with suppliers regarding delivery schedules, shortages and potential supply risks.

Maintain accurate purchase order information within the ERP/MRP system.

Work closely with Purchasing, Planning and Production teams to ensure material availability.

Provide regular updates on delivery status and resolve supply issues promptly.

Support inventory management and minimise material shortages and disruptions.

Monitor supplier performance and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
Skills & Experience

Previous experience in a Materials Expeditor, Purchasing, Supply Chain or Materials Planning role.

Experience within a manufacturing or engineering environment is desirable.

Good understanding of procurement and supply chain processes.

Experience using ERP/MRP systems.

Strong organisational, communication and problem-solving skills.

Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.

Ability to prioritise workload and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Personal Attributes

Highly organised with excellent attention to detail.

Proactive and solutions-focused approach.

Strong relationship-building and stakeholder management skills.

Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
