Our award winning, original equipment manufacturing client is seeking an experienced & conscience Production Team Leader to join their growing team.
About the role
* Lead by example by adhering to procedures and instructions, ensuring teams are managed effectively and motivated.
* Conduct team morning meetings to share production plan and any other key information with the team.
* Work to ensure people and resources are applied in an efficient and effective manner to meet delivery requirements while achieving quality and safety standards.
* Ensure that team members follow defined assembly procedures (SOPs) and comply with quality requirements.
* Contribute to section throughput with Hands-on support.
* Carry out incident, accident and non-conformity investigations and associated reporting and action closure.
* Encourage a health and safety conscious mindset.
* Encourage a continuous improvement mindset within the team.
* Provide or facilitate job specific training.
* Support the engineering department in establishing new processes, determining tooling and creating new SOPs as well as supporting pre-production builds.
Person Specification
* Committed to team development
* High levels of motivation
* Work independently, reviewed infrequently with minimal supervision
* Ability to lead by example, gain respect from team and communicate with clarity whilst demonstrating excellence in approach to work and people activities
* Ability to manage a wide variety of activities at the same time
* Ability to plan, analyse and challenge
* Solid understanding of all people related processes and procedures
* Good understanding of customer deliverables and the impact of failure/cost of poor quality
Experience
* Experience of leading small group activities to drive improvement ideas
* Experience of assisting and developing people
* Computer literate with experience of MS packages and ERP systems
* Knowledge of Health & Safety legislation including ISO14001 and responsibilities
* Knowledge of Quality standard ISO9001 or IATF16949
* Understanding of production costs to include waste, downtime, scrap and re-work.
