Take ownership of a finance function within a successful manufacturing group.
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Bookkeeper to join a well-established manufacturing business that forms part of a larger group.
You'll take full responsibility for the day-to-day finance function of a subsidiary, working autonomously while benefiting from the support and stability of a wider group finance structure.
This is a hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys high-volume transactional accounting and is confident managing the accounts through to Trial Balance.
Key Responsibilities
* Take full ownership of the finance function for a standalone group subsidiary.
* Manage high-volume sales ledger, including invoicing, cash allocation and customer account reconciliations.
* Oversee the purchase ledger, processing supplier invoices and preparing payment runs.
* Carry out credit control and maintain strong customer relationships.
* Complete daily and monthly bank reconciliations.
* Prepare VAT returns and statutory submissions.
* Produce month-end accounts through to Trial Balance.
* Maintain accurate financial records and support year-end processes.
* Liaise with the wider Group Finance team and external auditors where required.
* Identify and implement process improvements to enhance financial controls and efficiency.
About You
We're looking for someone who can work independently and take ownership of the finance function while building strong relationships across the wider business.
You'll ideally have:
* Previous experience as a Bookkeeper or Finance Manager within an SME or manufacturing environment.
* Strong experience across sales ledger, purchase ledger & credit control.
* A background in high-volume transactional accounting.
* Experience preparing accounts to Trial Balance.
* Good Excel skills and confidence using accounting software.
* Excellent organisational skills with a proactive, hands-on approach.
