Pay: £110-£120 per day (depending on experience)

We are looking for a dedicated and resilient Unqualified Teaching Assistant to join a specialist SEN Alternative Provision in the Blackley area. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is committed to making a real difference in the lives of young people who require additional support to reach their full potential.
The Role
You will be supporting students with a range of special educational needs and disabilities (SEND), including:
Autism (ASC)
Severe and profound learning difficulties
Complex communication needs
Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs
Challenging behaviour
Physical and medical needsWorking closely with teachers and therapists, you will help deliver personalised learning, promote independence, and support pupils with their social, emotional and personal development.
Requirements
We are looking for candidates who:
Have experience working with children or vulnerable adults with SEND, complex needs, or challenging behaviour.
Have transferable skills from roles such as support work, care work, youth work, sports coaching, residential care, mental health support, or similar.
Are patient, resilient, adaptable, and committed to helping young people succeed.
Can build positive relationships while maintaining professional boundaries.
Are confident supporting pupils with personal care where required.
Can work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Hold an Enhanced Child and Adult DBS registered on the Update Service, or be willing to apply for a new DBS.
Desirable Skills
Experience using positive behaviour support strategies.
Knowledge of safeguarding procedures.
Understanding of communication approaches such as Makaton, PECS, or visual supports.
Team Teach, de-escalation, or manual handling training (desirable but not essential).If you're passionate about supporting young people and have the skills, resilience, and enthusiasm to thrive in a specialist SEND setting, we'd love to hear from you.
