Looking for a rewarding SEN role where you can make a real difference?

Are you an experienced Teaching Assistant with a passion for supporting children with additional needs?

Would you prefer working within a specialist provision supporting small groups rather than in a dedicated 1:1 role?

Premier Education is working in partnership with a large, inclusive primary school near Manchester city centre that is seeking a confident and proactive Teaching Assistant to join its Resource Provision from September 2026 on an ongoing basis.

This welcoming school prides itself on creating a supportive learning environment for all pupils and has a strong commitment to inclusion. You'll play a key role in helping children with a range of additional needs, including Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), ADHD and Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, some of whom may display behaviours that challenge.

The role

As a Resource Provision Teaching Assistant, you will:

Support pupils within a small-group provision setting
Deliver targeted interventions and learning support
Provide occasional 1:1 support where required
Help pupils develop emotional regulation and positive behaviour strategies
Work collaboratively with class teachers, the SENCO and wider support staff
Create a safe, calm and engaging learning environment where pupils can thrive

What you'll gain

This role offers excellent experience for anyone considering a future career in education, psychology or SEND services, including:

Valuable experience supporting a diverse range of SEN needs
Opportunities to strengthen behaviour management and de-escalation techniques
Exposure to EHCPs, personalised learning plans and specialist interventions
Experience within a large, highly inclusive primary school
A strong foundation for Educational Psychology, Teaching or SEND-focused careers

Requirements

Previous experience working with children or young people (school-based experience is desirable but not essential)
Experience in areas such as tutoring, coaching, youth work, childcare or mentoring
A positive, resilient and adaptable approach
Strong communication and relationship-building skills
The ability to remain calm and confident in challenging situations
A passion for supporting children with additional needs

Essential requirements

Right to Work in the UK (sponsorship is not available)
Teaching Assistant qualification is desirable but not essential
Based in or able to commute to Manchester city centre
Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one

How to Apply

Click 'Apply Now' and send your CV to Michaela at Premier Education today.

Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis, so early applications are encouraged.

Please ensure your CV includes full details of your qualifications and recent employment history.
