College Business Manager

Remedy education are looking for an experienced College Business Manager to oversee the efficient running of the college's finance, administration, HR, premises and compliance functions.

The successful candidate will work closely with the Principal and Board to ensure strong financial management, effective administrative systems, safe and well-maintained premises, and smooth day-to-day operations across the college. This role would suit someone highly organised, confident managing staff, and experienced within a school or college.

Position: College Business Manager

Key Responsibilities:

* Manage the college's financial systems, budgets, accounts and statutory returns
* Prepare management accounts, financial reports and liaise with auditors
* Oversee payroll, pensions, invoices, contracts, tenders and income generation
* Manage HR processes including recruitment, contracts, staff records, DBS checks and policies
* Supervise administrative, finance and premises staff
* Oversee the maintenance, safety, security and development of the college site
* Manage fire safety, emergency procedures, facilities, lettings and contractor liaison
* Provide administrative support to the Principal and Board, including clerking meetings
* Manage college records, MIS systems, student databases, DfE returns and ILR submissions
* Act as DPO and ensure GDPR, safeguarding, confidentiality and compliance procedures are followed

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

* Strong finance, HR and administration experience in a schoolor colledge
* Experience managing budgets, financial reports and accounting procedures
* Experience supervising and supporting staff
* Strong knowledge of administrative systems, databases and IT networks
* Excellent organisation, communication and problem-solving skills
* Experience with premises, buildings or facilities management
* A good understanding of safeguarding, confidentiality and data protection
* Knowledge of DfE funding, education finance or college-based software would be desirable
* A relevant finance, accounting, school business manager or HR qualification would be desirable
