Nexus Resource Solutions are looking for a Mechinical Fitter for a 3 week installation and relocation project near Glenrothes.
The Role
The successful candidates will be responsible for the dismantling, relocation, installation and commissioning of production machinery and process plant within manufacturing and industrial environment. This role requires a strong mechanical background, excellent fault-finding skills and the ability to work safely to engineering drawings and client specifications.
Key Responsibilities
• Dismantling and reassembling production machinery and process equipment.
• Mechanical installation of new manufacturing and processing equipment.
• Factory and production line relocations.
• Plant moves and machinery transfers.
• Installation and alignment of conveyors, pumps, motors, gearboxes and mechanical equipment.
• Precision alignment using laser or dial indicator equipment where required.
• Mechanical maintenance and overhaul of production plant.
• Working from engineering drawings, GA drawings and manufacturer manuals.
• Assisting with commissioning and testing of machinery.
• Completing mechanical inspections and quality checks.
• Ensuring all work is carried out safely and in accordance with site procedures.
Experience Required
• Time-served Mechanical Fitter or recognised apprenticeship.
• Previous experience within manufacturing, heavy engineering or industrial environments.
• Experience dismantling and rebuilding industrial machinery.
• Previous experience carrying out production line and factory relocations.
• Competent reading engineering drawings.
• Experience with pumps, gearboxes, motors, conveyors and mechanical assemblies.
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
