Cherry Professional is working on a confidential requirement for a Financial Accountant where the successful hire will sit close to the operational teams and bring a Finance Business Partner mindset — not just “reporting and reconciliations”, but real commercial support and stakeholder influence.
The opportunity
This role will suit a hands-on financial accountant (ideally part-qualified or newly qualified ACCA/CIMA/ACA) who enjoys being visible to the business, improving understanding of performance, and driving better decision-making through strong numbers and insight.
Key responsibilities (Finance BP-leaning)
Month-end support including accruals, prepayments and balance sheet control
Produce and explain management information with clear narrative and variance commentary
Partner with budget holders to support budgeting, forecasting and spend control
Help build KPI reporting and improve the quality/consistency of performance information
Provide insight to support operational decision-making (costs, trends, risks, opportunities)
Support continuous improvement across reporting and finance processesWhat we’re looking for
Part-qualified or newly qualified in ACCA/CIMA/ACA
Strong month-end fundamentals (accruals / prepayments / reconciliations)
Comfortable engaging stakeholders and challenging constructively
Analytical mindset (able to spot themes, not just produce numbers)
Confident with Excel and working in a fast-moving environment
Driven, ambitious, desire to influence change, decision making and process development
