CNC Turners opportunity for a setter operator with experience working with sub spindles and driven/live tooling.
The role is working in an eestablished and busy sub contract precision engineering company, the ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with Mazak CNC lathes and delivering high-quality components on time.
Key responsibilities
- Set up, adjust and operate CNC lathes as a setter/operator
- Program adjustments/offsets, load tooling, and optimise cycle times for efficiency and quality
- Work with sub spindles and driven tooling to produce complex turned parts
- Read and interpret engineering drawings and work instructions
- Perform first-off checks, in-process inspection and final measurement using micrometers, calipers and gauges
- Maintain machine housekeeping and perform basic preventative maintenance and tool changes
- Follow safety procedures and quality standards; report non-conformances promptly
- Flexibility to work overtime when required (premium rate overtime paid)
Required skills and experience
- Proven experience as a CNC Turner / Setter Operator.
- Demonstrable experience with sub spindles and driven/live tooling
- Strong ability to set up and run multi-operation turning cycles
- Competent in reading engineering drawings and performing precise measurement checks
- Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Reliable, punctual and able to work independently or as part of a team
