Manufacturing Engineer – CNC Programming / CADCAM
Location: Fife, Scotland
£38k-£47k + Shift allowance + overtime ( 4 day week shift pattern)
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Manufacturing Engineer to join the Engineering Office of a specialist precision engineering company producing complex, high-specification components for demanding industries.
This role would suit an experienced CNC Programmer, Manufacturing Engineer or CADCAM Programmer who enjoys developing machining processes, solving manufacturing challenges and supporting production within a high-precision machining environment.
The Role – Manufacturing Engineer
Create and optimise CNC programs for complex precision components
Develop machining methods and manufacturing strategies
Support production teams with technical machining expertise
Improve cycle times, tooling selection and manufacturing efficiency
Develop setup documentation and manufacturing instructions
Support first article prove-out activities and process validation
Investigate production issues and implement corrective actions
Assist with new product introduction and continuous improvement projects
Liaise closely with machinists, quality and engineering teams Requirements
CNC programming experience within a precision engineering environment
CADCAM programming experience (Mastercam, Edgecam, Hypermill, Fusion 360 or similar)
Strong understanding of machining methods, tooling and workholding
Ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings and GD&T
Understanding of milling and turning processes
Experience developing machining strategies for complex, tight-tolerance components
Strong problem-solving and root cause analysis skills
Experience supporting production and process improvement activities
Knowledge of 3, 4 and 5-axis machining advantageous
