Environment, Health & Safety (EHS) Specialist Stafford £67.50 p/h - Umbrella 6 month contract

Job Responsibilities
Develop, implement, and maintain the company's EHS policies and procedures to ensure compliance with UK legislation and industry standards.
Conduct regular risk assessments and site inspections to identify potential hazards and implement corrective actions.
Provide expert advice and support to management and staff on all EHS matters, fostering a culture of safety and environmental awareness.
Coordinate and deliver EHS training programmes to ensure all employees are informed of best practices and legal requirements.
Monitor and report on EHS performance metrics, preparing detailed reports for senior management and regulatory bodies.
Lead incident investigations, root cause analysis, and implement preventative measures to minimise future risks.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant legislation, standards, and industry best practices related to EHS.
Assist with environmental permits, audits, and compliance documentation to ensure ongoing adherence to environmental regulations.
Promote continuous improvement initiatives aimed at reducing environmental impact and enhancing workplace safety. Required Skills & Qualifications
Proven experience in an EHS role within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
Relevant qualifications such as NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent health and safety certification.
Strong understanding of UK health, safety, and environmental legislation and standards.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels.
Technical proficiency in risk assessment, incident investigation, and EHS management systems.
Ability to analyse data, prepare reports, and present findings clearly and confidently.
Proactive approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement.
Attention to detail and organisational skills to manage multiple priorities effectively.
Relevant environmental qualifications or experience in environmental management systems (EMS) is desirable. Call to Action
