Prospero Teaching is looking for dedicated and experienced SEN Tutors to provide 1:1 support to students across Hounslow. We are supporting a number of young people who are currently out of mainstream education, including those awaiting school placements, accessing alternative provision, receiving EOTAS packages, or who are Looked After Children (LAC).
Many of the students have additional needs, including Autism (ASD), ADHD, SEMH needs, Speech and Language difficulties, Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD), and other SEND requirements. As a result, we are seeking tutors who can deliver personalised learning programmes while building positive, trusting relationships with learners and their families.
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver engaging, tailored 1:1 tuition sessions that meet each student's individual educational and developmental needs.
Support students with SEND who may have experienced significant disruption to their education.
Adapt lesson plans and teaching strategies to accommodate a range of learning profiles and EHCP targets.
Promote confidence, independence, and positive engagement with learning.
Use creative and differentiated approaches to meet academic, social, emotional, and behavioural needs.
Work collaboratively with parents, carers, schools, local authorities, and other professionals.
Monitor, record, and report on student progress and outcomes.
Requirements:
Experience working with children and young people with SEND.
Strong understanding of a range of special educational needs, including ASD, ADHD, SEMH, and learning difficulties.
Ability to deliver personalised learning and adapt resources effectively.
Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).
Right to work in the UK.
Desirable:
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or a relevant teaching qualification.
Experience delivering EOTAS, alternative provision, or home tuition.
Knowledge of EHCPs and targeted intervention strategies.
Experience working with Looked After Children (LAC).
Training in areas such as Team Teach, Autism Awareness, Makaton, PECS, or Zones of Regulation.
