Family Assessment Social Worker | Horncastle
Location: Horncastle, East Lindsey
Team: FAST (Family Assessment & Support Team)
Working Pattern: Hybrid (with on-site duty week every 3 weeks)
About the Role
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Social Worker to join a FAST team in Horncastle. This is a key frontline role, delivering high-quality statutory social work to children and families across:
Child in Need
Child Protection
Children in CareYou will play a critical role in safeguarding, assessment, and planning, ensuring children receive the right support at the right time to achieve safe and positive outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct Section 47 enquiries and lead safeguarding investigations
Complete comprehensive Child and Family Assessments
Apply evidence-based frameworks such as Signs of Safety to assess and manage risk
Lead and contribute to multi-agency planning and decision-making
Produce high-quality, analytical reports, including those for court
Maintain timely, accurate and defensible case recordings
Build strong, purposeful relationships with children and families through relationship-based practice
Demonstrate sound decision-making in complex and high-risk situations
About You
To be successful in this role, you will bring:
Proven experience within statutory children's social work
Strong working knowledge of Child Protection, CIN, and CIC processes
Confidence managing complex caseloads and safeguarding concerns
Experience in court work and report writing
Ability to work collaboratively across agencies
A genuine commitment to improving outcomes for children and families
Working Arrangements
Duty week: Full on-site presence required (5 days), on a 1 in 3 week rota
Non-duty weeks: Flexible hybrid working available
