Role Purpose

Hendon Prep is seeking to appoint a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to support pupils across the school. This is a varied and rewarding role working with children from Preschool through to Year 6.

Key Responsibilities include:

Support pupils within lessons to access learning and make progress

Reinforce teaching delivered by the class teacher

Promote pupils' confidence, independence and positive attitudes to learning

Work collaboratively with teaching staff to adapt provision as required

Contribute to a nurturing, inclusive and well-managed classroom environment

The Successful Candidate will bring:

Qualifications

GCSE (or equivalent) in English and Mathematics — essential

Relevant Teaching Assistant qualification — desirable

SEND-related training — desirable

Experience

Experience of working with primary-aged children (EYFS and/or KS1/KS2) — essential

Experience supporting pupils with SEND — desirable

Experience in a school or educational setting (mainstream or specialist) — desirable

Knowledge and Skills

Sound understanding of the primary curriculum

Ability to support pupils with a range of learning needs

Ability to promote independence and engagement in learning

Strong interpersonal and communication skills

Ability to build positive and professional relationships with pupils and staff

Good organisational skills and ability to manage workload effectively
