Maintenance Engineer (Days)

Thirsk, North Yorkshire, YO7
Salary: £40,000 - £45,000 per annum

40 hours per week, Monday to Friday.
Flexible working pattern of either:

4 x 10-hour days, or
5 x 8-hour days.

Where the 4-day week is selected, the engineering team will coordinate and agree individual days off.
Commutable from York, Thirsk, Ripon, Middlesborough, Boroughbridge, Harrogate, Knaresborough

The Role

Hawk 3 Talent Solutions are seeking a Maintenance Engineer to provide engineering support to a busy production team within a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, you will play a key role in ensuring plant and equipment reliability through planned, preventative and reactive maintenance activities. The successful candidate will be proactive, safety-focused and capable of working both independently and as part of a collaborative engineering team.

Key Responsibilities

Carry out planned, preventative and corrective maintenance activities in line with maintenance schedules and systems.
Investigate equipment issues, perform root cause analysis and implement effective solutions.
Support production and quality teams with technical and process-related issues.
Maintain accurate maintenance records and ensure documentation is kept up to date.
Provide detailed breakdown reports and support continuous improvement initiatives.
Adhere to all Health & Safety policies and procedures.
Essential Requirements

Time-served engineering qualification.
Minimum of 2 years' experience in a maintenance engineering role.
Good working knowledge of pneumatic and electrical control systems.
Experience with product transfer systems, including elevators, drag-chain and auger feed systems.
Strong fault-finding and troubleshooting skills.
Good organisational and time management abilities.
Ability to work on your own initiative and as part of a team.
Comfortable working within a fast-paced production environment.
Flexible, adaptable and highly motivated approach.
Desirable Skills

Previous experience within a manufacturing or production environment.
Mechanical bias.
