Our client, a leading global manufacturer is seeking a Junior Packaging Technologist to join their team at their site in Folkestone, Kent. This is a full-time, on-site position and is temporary ongoing.

The Role

As a Junior Packaging Technologist, you will support the development, testing, and implementation of packaging solutions across a range of consumer products, ensuring packaging meets quality, safety, sustainability, and cost objectives.

Key responsibilities include:

Conduct laboratory and packaging tests, experiments, and trial activities in line with established procedures.
Assist with the development, evaluation, and validation of packaging concepts and materials.
Collect, analyse, and interpret test data, preparing accurate technical reports and documentation.
Maintain detailed records of experimental procedures, packaging specifications, and testing results.
Coordinate packaging trials and support the introduction of new packaging into production.
Work collaboratively with R&D, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Marketing, Quality, and external suppliers to support product development projects.
Assist in troubleshooting packaging issues on production lines and identifying practical solutions.
Support continuous improvement initiatives by identifying opportunities to enhance testing methods, packaging performance, and operational efficiency.
Help ensure compliance with relevant regulatory requirements, quality standards, and internal procedures.About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

A degree, diploma, or equivalent qualification in Packaging Technology, Food Science, Engineering, or a related discipline (preferred).
Strong analytical, organisational, and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail.
The ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a dynamic manufacturing environment.
Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across different teams.
