Transport Planner
A Transport Planner is responsible for coordinating and scheduling vehicle movements to ensure deliveries and collections are completed safely, efficiently, and cost-effectively. The role involves planning routes, allocating drivers and vehicles, monitoring daily transport operations, maintaining compliance with transport regulations, and liaising with customers, drivers, and warehouse teams to achieve service targets.
Key Responsibilities:
Plan and optimise daily delivery and collection routes.
Allocate vehicles and drivers to workloads.
Monitor vehicle movements and resolve operational issues.
Ensure compliance with driver hours, Working Time Directive, and transport legislation.
Communicate with customers, drivers, and internal departments.
Manage transport documentation and records.
Identify opportunities to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
Key Skills:
Strong organisational and planning abilities.
Excellent communication skills.
Good geographical knowledge.
Ability to work under pressure and solve problems quickly.
Proficiency with RHA analysis and Microsoft Office.
