The Role
Reporting to the Director, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day finance function while ensuring accurate financial reporting, compliance, and efficient financial operations. This is a hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
*
Prepare monthly management accounts and financial reports.
*
Oversee sales and purchase ledgers, credit control, and payroll.
*
Manage cash flow, budgeting, and forecasting.
*
Reconcile bank accounts and balance sheet accounts.
*
Prepare VAT returns and ensure compliance with HMRC requirements.
*
Support year-end accounts and liaise with external accountants and auditors.
*
Monitor stock valuation and manufacturing costs.
*
Analyse financial performance and provide recommendations to improve profitability.
*
Develop and improve financial processes and internal controls.
*
Support senior management with financial planning and strategic decision-making.
About You
The successful candidate will have:

Significant experience in a senior accounts or finance role.
*
Experience working within a manufacturing environment.
*
Strong knowledge of management accounting, budgeting, and financial reporting.
*
Experience with accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
*
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
*
High attention to detail and accuracy.
*
Strong communication and organisational skills.
*
The ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
Qualifications needed
*
AAT qualified, ACCA, CIMA, ACA, or qualified by experience.
*
Experience with ERP or manufacturing accounting systems.
*
Knowledge of stock control and cost accounting.
