Astute's Renewables team is partnered with an internationally recognised utility-scale solar developer and operator with a strong track record in delivering and managing renewable energy assets across multiple markets to recruit a Technical Control Centre Team Lead to be based in Edinburgh or Glasgow regions.
The Technical Control Centre Team Lead role offers a salary of up to £50,000 DOE, along with a pension scheme, private healthcare, bonus scheme, and flexible working arrangements.

Responsibilities and duties of the Technical Control Centre Team Lead role
Reporting to the Global Head of Data Services you will:
Oversee day-to-day control centre operations, ensuring effective monitoring of wind, solar and BESS assets.
Provide supervision, structure, and day-to-day support to a small team of control room operators.
Set clear expectations around workload priorities, performance standards, and operational consistency.
Ensure compliance with health, safety and environmental standards, including relevant UK operational safety procedures.
Act as a key operational contact for internal teams, contractors, and external stakeholders.
Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, service quality, and response times.
Monitor operational performance and support actions aimed at reducing downtime and improving asset availability.
Coordinate with other international control centres to support alignment of processes and best practice sharing.
Support onboarding, training, and development of new team members within the control centre.
Professional qualifications
We are looking for someone with the following:
Experience in renewable energy operations (wind, solar, or BESS), ideally within a control room or O&M environment.
Previous experience in a senior operator, shift lead, or supervisory capacity.
Understanding of safe systems of work and UK health & safety requirements (WTSR knowledge beneficial).
Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise and manage operational tasks effectively.
Confident user of monitoring systems and digital operational tools.
Clear and effective communication skills across technical and operational teams.
Personal skills
