Uttoxeter, Staffordshire, United Kingdom
Engineering
Immediate Start
£48k - £49k Annual
Full-Time
Location; Uttoxeter
We are working with a well-established food manufacturing business operating within a high-volume FMCG production environment, supplying products into major retail and foodservice markets. The site runs a wide range of production and packaging equipment, backed by strong ongoing investment in engineering capability, plant reliability and continuous improvement.
This is a great opportunity for a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer (Electrical Bias) to join a proactive engineering team on a site where maintenance is genuinely valued. A fully equipped workshop with mills, lathes and a comprehensive stock of engineering spares means engineers are properly supported to drive long-term equipment reliability, rather than working purely reactively.
The role has arisen due to an internal promotion, reflecting the real progression opportunities within the engineering function. It would suit a Maintenance Engineer who enjoys technical fault finding, continuous improvement work and building strong working relationships with production teams.
Responsibilities of a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer:
Carry out planned preventative and reactive maintenance across food production and packaging equipment
Diagnose and repair complex electrical and mechanical faults to minimise downtime
Work across ovens, mixers, chillers and packaging lines
Support continuous improvement projects and reliability initiatives across the site
Work closely with production teams to improve machine performance and uptime
Support the development and mentoring of engineering apprentices
Maintain high engineering and housekeeping standards across the site
Skills & Qualifications of a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer:
NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Electrical, Mechanical or Multi-Skilled Engineering
Electrically biased engineer with strong fault-finding capability
Experience within manufacturing or FMCG maintenance environments
Strong planned and reactive maintenance background
Experience mentoring apprentices or junior engineers desirable
Benefits of a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer:
Salary: £48,226.25 plus paid overtime
4 on 4 off shift pattern (days & nights, 06:00–18:00)
Genuine career progression opportunities within the business
Pension scheme
Cycle2Work scheme
Restaurant Group discount – 50% off for friends and family
Health Assured Employee Assistance Programme
