Electronics & Instrumentation Engineer
Location: Westcott, UK
Our client, a leading organisation in the space and aerospace sector, is seeking an experienced Electronics & Instrumentation Engineer to support the design, development, testing, and integration of advanced electronic systems for space applications.
Key Responsibilities
* Design, review, and implement electronic and instrumentation systems in line with ECSS standards.
* Develop and assess FPGA and microcontroller-based embedded systems.
* Support system integration, testing, validation, and commissioning of spacecraft electronics.
* Review electronic schematics, wiring diagrams, instrumentation architectures, and technical documentation.
* Work closely with multidisciplinary teams and external suppliers to deliver high-performance electronic solutions.
* Troubleshoot electronic systems and contribute to continuous product improvement.
Requirements
* Degree in Electronic Engineering or a related discipline.
* Experience within the space, aerospace, or defence industry.
* Strong knowledge of ECSS standards (ECSS-E-ST-50, ECSS-E-ST-55, ECSS-Q-ST-30).
* Experience with embedded electronics, FPGA, microcontrollers, and electronic system integration.
* Understanding of space qualification, environmental testing (thermal, vibration, radiation), and spacecraft electronics.
* Knowledge of communication protocols such as CAN, UART, MIL-STD-1553, or SpaceWire is advantageous.
