About the Role

Viatris is seeking an Analytical & Materials Scientist to join our Analytical Control & Development team in Sandwich. This is an exciting opportunity to support the development of innovative respiratory and other medicinal products from early formulation through to clinical studies and product registration.

You'll play a key role in delivering high-quality analytical testing and scientific insight, supporting the progression of new medicines and ensuring they meet the highest standards of quality, safety, and compliance.

Key Responsibilities

In this hands-on laboratory role, you will:

Conduct analytical testing to support product development, clinical trials, and regulatory submissions.
Execute experiments that deepen scientific understanding in analytical and materials science, contributing to method development and formulation activities.
Perform analysis related to product stability, development, and scale‑up processes.
Process and interpret data, highlighting any anomalies and working with supervisors to investigate where needed.
Maintain clear and accurate laboratory documentation in line with data integrity and good documentation practices.
Support project delivery through additional tasks such as laboratory housekeeping, ordering, and shipment of samples.
Comply with all relevant policies and procedures, including those relating to EHS, GMP, GCP, Quality, and Compliance.
Undertake other duties assigned in line with the level and scope of the role.

About You

We're looking for someone who is proactive, detail‑oriented, and enthusiastic about laboratory science.

Required:

Relevant scientific A Levels, BTEC Level 3, equivalent qualifications, or substantial practical experience.
Ability to organise tasks, follow analytical methods, and deliver high‑quality results on time.
Strong teamwork skills and the ability to collaborate effectively within a laboratory environment.
Understanding of basic chemistry principles.
Good IT skills, including Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Genuine enthusiasm for working in a lab-based role.
1 year of experience in industry (placement or work experience)

Desirable:

Bachelor's degree in a relevant scientific discipline (e.g., Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Forensics), or equivalent experience.
