Key Responsibilities
Train to set up and operate an In-line heat sealer, Multihead Weighers, flow wrapper, Metal detector and check weigh machine.
Ensure the correct customer film is used per production run and this is checked and validated by the Line Leader.
Liaise with Line Leader/Production Manager to ensure there is enough film in the line’s cage for producing the days packing.
Ensure the correct date code information is inputted into the ice code printer and this is checked and validated by the Line Leader or QA.
Ensure all machinery is maintained and cleaned periodically throughout the shift and do basic maintenance if necessary
Set up check weigh machinery to ensure the correct weigh batch is selected per production run and complete on line calibration and report high levels of rejections to the Line Leader.
Complete any relevant paperwork relating to batch / production run and label checks
Take responsibility for ensuring machinery is left fit for purpose at the end of shift for other users.
Report any machinery issues to the Line Leader immediately, then speak to the engineering team to look into the issue / problem / fault. Do not attempt to fix the problem.
Complete any relevant cleaning of machines and downtime sheet at the end of the shift.
Any other reasonable duties deemed necessary to the needs of the business.
Committed to maintaining a Health and Safety orientated environment for self and others.
Ensure everything produced matches: The packing plans. Production runs at or above the minimum production targets. Correct number of staff on the line to perform the job against the QC grade.
Ensure all pre-start checks are completed correctly.
Ensure throughputs targets are met and reasons are reported for not achieving expected throughput targets.
Key Competancies
* Good level of spoken English with clear ability to read and write.
* Attention to detail in all aspects of operating machinery.
* Good communication skills.
* Team Player.
* Flexible and positive in approach.
* Good Attitude towards Health and Safety.
* Experience using Multihead Weighers is preferred.
* Ability to work in Cold Environments
