SEN Teaching Assistant – Primary School

About the School
We are working in partnership with a welcoming and inclusive primary school in Hillingdon that is committed to ensuring every child reaches their full potential. The school provides a nurturing and supportive learning environment where pupils are encouraged to develop academically, socially and emotionally.

Staff work collaboratively to deliver high-quality teaching and tailored support, creating a positive atmosphere where every child feels valued and included.

Main Duties & Responsibilities

Provide dedicated 1:1 support for a pupil with Special Educational Needs (SEN), including Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), within a mainstream classroom.
Support the pupil's learning, communication, emotional regulation and social development throughout the school day.
Adapt learning activities to meet the pupil's individual needs under the guidance of the class teacher and SENCO.
Encourage independence while providing appropriate support to help the pupil engage with lessons and classroom routines.
Use positive behaviour management strategies to promote engagement and wellbeing.
Work closely with the class teacher, SENCO and external professionals to implement personalised support plans.About You

Previous experience supporting children with SEN, particularly Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), in a primary school or similar setting.
A calm, nurturing and adaptable approach to supporting children's individual needs.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff.
An understanding of inclusive practice and a commitment to helping every child succeed.
The ability to work collaboratively as part of a supportive school team.
A genuine passion for making a positive difference to children's learning, confidence and wellbeing.Why Horizon Teachers
