Engineering Geologist - Doncaster

Location: Doncaster
Salary: £30,000 - £38,000

A talented multidisciplinary engineering consultancy is looking to recruit an Engineering Geologist to join its growing Doncaster office. The business has an excellent reputation for delivering high-quality geotechnical, geoenvironmental and civil engineering solutions across the residential, commercial, industrial, infrastructure and energy sectors.

The Role

As an Engineering Geologist, you'll be involved in both site and office-based work, supporting the delivery of ground investigation projects from initial fieldwork through to factual reporting. You'll work closely with experienced engineers and geologists in a collaborative environment with plenty of opportunities to develop your technical skills.

Key Responsibilities

Supervising ground investigation works, including rotary drilling, cable percussion, window sampling and trial pitting.
Logging soil and rock in accordance with current British Standards.
Collecting and scheduling soil, rock and groundwater samples for laboratory testing.
Supervising subcontractors and ensuring works are carried out safely and efficiently.
Preparing factual ground investigation reports.
Interpreting ground conditions and assisting with geotechnical assessments.
Liaising with clients, contractors and the wider project team.
Ensuring compliance with health and safety procedures on site.

Requirements

Degree in Engineering Geology, Geology, Earth Sciences or a related discipline.
Previous experience in ground investigation or engineering geology.
Good understanding of soil and rock logging.
Strong communication and report-writing skills.
Full UK driving licence.
A proactive approach and willingness to work on a variety of projects.
