Tradewind Recruitment are excited to be partnering with a friendly and well-respected primary school in St Albans, Hertfordshire, to recruit a talented and enthusiastic Year 1 Primary Teacher for a full-time, 12-month temporary contract starting in September 2026.

The successful candidate will take full responsibility for a Year 1 class, delivering engaging and inspiring lessons that support pupils through this important stage of their primary education. The successful candidate will:

Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
Have recent experience teaching within Key Stage 1, ideally in Year 1
Demonstrate excellent classroom management and strong behaviour management skills
Plan and deliver creative, engaging lessons that meet the needs of all learners
Use effective assessment to monitor progress and support pupil achievement
Be committed to providing an inclusive and nurturing classroom environment
Work collaboratively with colleagues, parents and the wider school community
Have a genuine passion for helping children develop academically, socially and emotionallyIn return, the school offers:
