A welcoming and inclusive primary school in Wokingham is seeking a Graduate 1:1 SEN Intervention Assistant to join their team this September. This is an excellent opportunity to gain valuable classroom experience while supporting a pupil or small group of pupils with additional learning, social, emotional, or behavioural needs.
Working alongside experienced teachers and SEN professionals, you'll play a key role in helping pupils overcome barriers to learning, develop confidence, and make meaningful progress throughout the school day.
As a Graduate 1:1 SEN Intervention Assistant, you will:
Deliver tailored 1:1 and small group interventions to support pupils with a range of additional needs
Adapt learning activities to suit individual abilities, helping pupils access the curriculum with confidence
Encourage pupils' social, emotional, and academic development through positive and consistent support
Monitor progress and provide feedback to the class teacher and SENCO
Build positive relationships with pupils, staff, and families to ensure a collaborative approach to support
Help create a safe, engaging, and inclusive learning environment where every child can succeedThis role is ideal for graduates who:
Have completed a degree in Psychology, Education, Criminology, Sociology, Health & Social Care, or a related subject
Are passionate about supporting children and young people with additional needs
Are patient, resilient, and eager to develop practical skills in a school setting
Are considering a future career in education, educational psychology, therapy, or another child-focused professionPrevious experience working with children is beneficial but not essential. A positive attitude, willingness to learn, and genuine enthusiasm for supporting pupils are what matter most.
