Our client is looking to appoint an Estimator / Quantity Surveyor in a commercially focused hybrid role offering the opportunity to be involved cradle to grave commercially — from initial pricing and tender support through to securing projects and managing applications for payment.
This role would suit either an estimator with QS exposure or a QS keen to develop stronger estimating capabilities within a supportive commercial environment.
Key responsibilities
*
Preparing cost estimates and pricing submissions
*
Supporting tenders through to successful project award
*
Commercial management post-award, including applications for payment
*
Liaising with subcontractors and project stakeholders
*
Following up on outstanding payments and resolving commercial issues
*
Supporting overall commercial lifecycle of projects
Ideal candidate profile
*
Minimum 5 years’ construction industry experience
*
Strong general construction knowledge (including fire sector experience)
*
Comfortable across both estimating and commercial/QS responsibilities
*
Confident communicator, particularly when chasing payments or negotiating commercially
*
Well-rounded industry background — strong subcontractor or main contractor experience welcomed
