Info about what the Project Manager role entails
The Engineering Manager will provide strategic direction to the growing engineering function, guiding the delivery of complex safety solutions. Collaboration with the new product development team will be key to shaping innovation pathways and sustaining the business’s long-term evolution through change management and implementation of best practice.
You'll take ownership of planning, coordinating and delivering the company's engineering projects from start to finish. Working closely with customers, suppliers and internal teams, you'll develop project plans, schedules and workflows that ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently and on time, while maintaining a high level of customer satisfaction.
Project Delivery
* Manage engineering projects from handover through to completion.
* Plan and schedule projects to ensure they are delivered safely, on time and within budget.
* Coordinate engineers, subcontractors and internal teams.
Operations
* Schedule engineers and manage workloads across multiple projects.
* Support commercial aspects of projects, including planning and resource allocation.
Customer Management
* Act as the main point of contact for customers throughout the project.
* Provide first-line technical support where required.
Essential Requirements of the Project Manager
* Excellent organisational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities while meeting deadlines.
* Strong communication and relationship-building skills, with experience working closely with customers, suppliers and cross-functional engineering teams.
* Experience managing project resources, budgets and costs to ensure successful project delivery.
* A good understanding of health and safety requirements, with a commitment to maintaining safe working practices on customer sites.
Desirable Requirements of the Project Manager
* Knowledge of the Rail industry / Network rail standards would be useful.
