Job Title: Technical Manager
Location: Cornwall
Salary: c.£75,000
This confidential opportunity is with an established food manufacturing business seeking an experienced Technical Manager to lead all aspects of food safety, quality and technical compliance across the site.
Overview
The successful candidate will provide strategic leadership for the technical function, ensuring robust quality systems, regulatory compliance, customer satisfaction and continuous improvement. The role forms part of the senior leadership team and leads the site's technical, quality, hygiene and systems activities.
Key Responsibilities
* Develop and deliver the site's technical strategy aligned with business objectives.
* Lead food safety, quality assurance and compliance systems including HACCP, TACCP, VACCP, traceability and QMS.
* Drive audit readiness and continuous improvement across internal, customer and certification audits.
* Lead, develop and coach the technical team, building capability and succession.
* Maintain strong customer relationships and manage technical communications.
* Analyse performance data, identify trends and implement improvement initiatives.
* Oversee hygiene, pest control, specifications, complaints reduction and departmental budgets.
* Ensure compliance with food legislation, retailer standards and industry best practice.
Experience & Qualifications
• Food manufacturing/FMCG technical leadership experience.
• Strong knowledge of food safety legislation and quality systems.
• HACCP, TACCP and VACCP expertise.
• Degree in Food Science (or equivalent) and relevant food safety qualifications preferred.
• Excellent leadership, communication and stakeholder management skills
