The Role
As Management Accountant, you will take ownership of the organisation’s management accounts and play a central role in leading a small but capable finance team. Reporting into the Director of Finance and Operations, you will ensure accurate financial reporting, strong controls, and insightful analysis to support strategic decision-making.
This is a hands-on and varied role, ideal for someone who enjoys both technical accounting and team leadership within a purpose-led environment.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead the preparation of monthly management accounts and financial reports
* Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes
* Manage and support a small finance team, providing guidance and development
* Ensure strong financial controls and compliance across all processes
* Produce clear financial insights for senior leadership and trustees
* Liaise confidently with stakeholders at all levels across the organisation
* Support year-end audit preparation and statutory reporting requirements
* Continuously improve financial systems, processes, and reporting efficiency
* Act as a trusted finance partner across the wider organisation
About You
We are looking for a confident, approachable and self-motivated finance professional who enjoys working in a collaborative environment.
You will ideally have:
* Part-qualified, fully qualified (ACCA/CIMA/ACA) or equivalent experience
* Strong experience in management accounting and financial reporting
* Ability to lead or support a small finance team
* Excellent communication skills, able to engage non-finance stakeholders
* Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail
* Confidence working in a fast-paced but supportive environment
* Proficiency with financial systems and Microsoft Excel
Contract Details
* Salary: £45,423 per annum
* Contract: 15-month maternity cover (starting July/August 2026)
* Hours: 37.5 hours per week (Monday–Friday)
* Working Pattern: Office-based in Devizes with hybrid working (1 day WFH – Friday)
