About the Role
We are looking for an experienced and reliable Carpenter Multi-Trade Operative to join our growing repairs and maintenance team, delivering high-quality work across our social housing properties.
The successful candidate will carry out a wide range of responsive repairs, planned maintenance, and void property works, ensuring all jobs are completed safely, efficiently, and to a high standard while providing excellent customer service to our residents.
Key Responsibilities
Carry out all aspects of first and second fix carpentry.
Complete multi-trade repairs including basic:
Plumbing
Tiling
Plastering
Painting and decorating
Patch repairs
Repair and install doors, frames, skirting, kitchens, locks, flooring, and other carpentry elements.
Undertake responsive repairs, planned works, and void property refurbishments.
Diagnose faults and identify the most effective repair solutions.
Ensure all work complies with health and safety regulations.
Complete job reports accurately using handheld devices.
Deliver excellent customer service while working in occupied homes.
What We're Looking For
Essential:
NVQ Level 2 or equivalent qualification in Carpentry (or time-served experience).
Proven experience working within social housing repairs and maintenance.
Strong carpentry skills with experience across multiple trades.
Full UK Driving Licence.
Ability to work independently and manage your own workload.
Good communication and customer service skills.
Desirable:
Experience using PDA/mobile job management systems.
Asbestos awareness training.
Health & Safety qualifications.
Experience working within responsive maintenance contracts
