Location: Nottingham (NG9)
Salary: From £18.00ph (Negotiable depending on experience)
Shift: Days Regular - 8:00am to 4:00pm
Contract: 12 Week Temp-to-Perm
Metalis are working with a well-established precision engineering manufacturer based in Nottingham (NG9) who are looking to add an experienced CNC Miller (Setter/Operator/Programmer) to their machining team.
About the Role
We are seeking a skilled CNC Miller with experience setting, operating, and programming CNC milling machines in a precision engineering environment. You will be responsible for producing high-quality components to engineering drawings, ensuring parts are manufactured to the highest standards while maintaining efficiency and quality throughout the production process.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a growing engineering business offering a long-term opportunity with the potential for permanent employment after a successful 12-week temporary period.
Key Responsibilities
Set, operate and programme CNC milling machines.
Manufacture precision components to engineering drawings and specifications.
Programme and edit programmes using Fanuc controls.
Set and operate Brother and Haas CNC machining centres.
Carry out first-off and in-process inspection using measuring equipment.
Ensure components meet quality standards and customer specifications.
Maintain a safe, clean and organised working environment.
Work efficiently to achieve production targets while maintaining high levels of quality.
Who Would Be Suitable
Previous experience as a CNC Miller (Setter/Operator/Programmer).
Experience setting, operating and programming CNC milling machines.
Strong knowledge of Fanuc controls.
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
Confident using a range of measuring and inspection equipment.
Excellent attention to detail and a proactive approach to work.
Ideal Background
Experience working with Brother CNC machining centres.
Experience operating Haas CNC milling machines.
Knowledge of Fanuc programming and controls.
Apprentice-trained or time-served machinist.
Background within precision engineering or subcontract manufacturing.
