Pay: Competitive hourly rate, dependent on experience

Quantum Scholars are looking for caring, reliable and experienced Secondary Tutors to support secondary-aged children and young people in and around Frome, Somerset.

We work with pupils who may be educated other than at school, awaiting a suitable placement, or in need of additional personalised support. Tuition is usually delivered on a 1:1 basis and may take place in the young person's home, in the community, or online depending on the individual referral.

We welcome applications from tutors with experience across a range of secondary subjects, particularly English, Maths, Science and Humanities.

The role may involve:

Using creative and interest-led approaches to support motivation

Working professionally with parents/carers and relevant professionals

Keeping brief records of session content, attendance, engagement and progress

We are looking for tutors who have:

Experience working with secondary-aged pupils

Strong subject knowledge in one or more secondary curriculum areas

A patient, encouraging and flexible approach

The ability to plan engaging, personalised learning sessions

Strong communication and organisational skills

A clear commitment to safeguarding and supporting positive outcomes for young people

Qualified Teacher Status would be highly desirable, particularly for referrals requiring a qualified teacher. We would also welcome applications from experienced tutors, instructors or education professionals with strong secondary subject knowledge and relevant experience.

Applicants must have, or be willing to obtain, an enhanced DBS certificate and be able to provide suitable references.

This is a rewarding opportunity to provide personalised support to young people who need a flexible, understanding and engaging approach to learning.
