Engineering Technician (Multiskilled)
Corby | £61,000 | Monday-Friday
A well-established food manufacturing site in Corby is looking for a Multi-skilled Engineering Technician to join its maintenance team. This is a hands-on role for an experienced Mechanical or Electrical biased engineer who wants to work in a fast-paced, high-standards manufacturing environment.
The Role
You'll provide day-to-day maintenance support across the site, keeping production equipment running safely and reliably. Working closely with the Senior Engineer and wider maintenance team, you'll carry out planned and reactive maintenance, troubleshoot equipment faults, and help drive continuous improvement across the plant.
What You'll Be Doing
* Carrying out planned preventative and reactive maintenance across site equipment
* Fault-finding on HMIs, PLCs, DCS and SCADA systems
* Completing instrument calibrations
* Logging all work, root causes and spare parts accurately in the maintenance system
* Reviewing contractor RAMS and completing permits to work
* Following safe systems of work and completing dynamic risk assessments where needed
* Supporting production to keep equipment running efficiently
* Keeping maintenance areas clean, tidy and safe
* Contributing to CI activity and helping reduce repair times and downtime
What We're Looking For
Essential
* Apprentice-trained Multiskilled Engineer (Mechanical or Electrical bias), qualified to City & Guilds Level 3 or NVQ Level 3 in a relevant discipline
* Experience with HMIs, PLCs, DCS or SCADA fault finding
* Familiarity with instrument calibration
* Experience using a CMMS for preventative/predictive maintenance
* Food industry experience with hygienic equipment
Desirable
* HNC or HND
* NEBOSH or IOSH Managing Safety
* 17th/18th Edition Electrical qualification
* CompEx EX01-EX04 or EX05-EX06
* Experience managing contractors
* ETP/CHP experience
Shift Pattern & On-Call
This role runs on a rotating shift pattern averaging 37.5 hours per week:
* 6am to 2pm, 8am to 4pm, or 2pm to 10pm (Monday to Friday)
* 10pm to 6am (Sunday to Thursday nights)
On-call cover is also required: 10pm Friday to 10pm Sunday, one weekend in four.
