Astute's Power Team is partnering with a well-established biomass energy producer operating an integrated wood pellet manufacturing and biomass power generation facility to recruit a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Technician (with an electrical bias) for its Invergordon site.

Responsibilities and duties of the Maintenance Technician role

Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor you will:

Carry out planned preventative and reactive electrical and mechanical maintenance across a busy biomass and wood pellet production facility.
Diagnose faults and repair plant equipment to minimise downtime and maximise operational performance.
Inspect, maintain and troubleshoot motors, pumps, conveyors, gearboxes, bearings, hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
Support production teams by responding quickly to breakdowns and ensuring equipment reliability.
Assist with PLC fault finding, process improvements and continuous improvement initiatives.
Complete maintenance inspections, testing and servicing in line with the site's planned maintenance programme.
Ensure all maintenance activities are carried out safely and in compliance with health, safety and environmental procedures.
Record maintenance activities accurately and contribute to root cause analysis and equipment reliability improvements.
Work collaboratively with the wider maintenance, production and engineering teams to deliver safe and efficient plant operations.
Professional qualifications

We are looking for someone with the following:

NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds or equivalent in Electrical Engineering.
18th Edition Wiring Regulations.
Strong electrical and mechanical fault-finding and maintenance skills.
Time-served Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer with an electrical bias.
Personal skills

The Maintenance Technician role would suit someone who is:

PLC fault-finding experience is desirable.
Knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, conveyors, pumps, motors and gearboxes is advantageous.
Flexible and willing to work shifts and outdoors when required.
Salary and benefits of the Maintenance Technician role

Competitive salary (dependent on experience)
Overtime opportunities at enhanced rates + shift allowance.
Continental shift pattern.
