Fortress Recruit is working with a leading global manufacturer to recruit an experienced Quality Engineer for a 6-month fixed term contract, to join their established team in the West Midlands. This is an excellent opportunity for a quality professional who enjoys working closely with customers, suppliers and internal teams to drive quality improvements and ensure compliance with industry standards.
Key responsibilities:
* Act as the main point of contact for customer and supplier quality matters
* Lead customer complaints, concessions and 8D investigations through to completion
* Lead FAIRs, support PPAP submissions and contribute to APQP activities during new product introduction
* Produce FAIR documentation in accordance with AS9102 requirements
* Conduct internal, supplier and customer audits to ISO9001 and AS9100 standards
* Support customer audits and ensure corrective actions are completed on time
* Lead change management activities across manufacturing processes
* Review customer quality requirements and ensure these are effectively communicated internally
* Drive continuous improvement initiatives across manufacturing and supplier performance
* Support Quality Management System activities and maintain compliance with aerospace standards
* Assist with incoming inspection, final inspection and non conforming product management when required
* Work closely with manufacturing, supply chain, technical, customer service and commercial teams
To be considered for this role, you'll have:
* Previous experience within a Quality Engineer position in manufacturing
* Experience within aerospace, defence or other highly regulated industries
* Working knowledge of AS9100 and ISO9001 Quality Management Systems
* Experience producing First Article Inspection Reports (FAIR) to AS9102
* Strong understanding of PPAP, APQP and change management processes
* Experience leading internal, supplier and customer audits
* Practical knowledge of 8D problem solving and root cause analysis
* Excellent communication skills with the confidence to liaise directly with customers and suppliers
* Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
The role is being offered on a 6-month fixed-term basis, full time (37 hours per week) and based on-site in the West Midlands. On offer is a salary of up to £45K (pro-rata), with flexible working opportunity.
