Immediate Start
£47.3k - £55.6k Annual
Full-Time
Are you an Environmental Advisor ready for the next step, or an Environment Manager looking to work on one of the UK's largest infrastructure projects?
Do you enjoy solving complex environmental challenges, influencing major stakeholders and ensuring high standards are maintained on site?
Salary: £47,255.80 to £55,596 (depending on experience)
Location: Southam/North Chiltern area - multiple locations available, 3 days in office/on site per week, 2 from home.
I am supporting HS2 in the recruitment of an Environment Manager to join the client-side team supporting their main contractor joint venture. This is a fantastic opportunity to move into an assurance-focused role, working alongside industry experts to ensure environmental commitments are delivered across one of the UK's most significant infrastructure programmes.
This role sits within the client team, providing technical assurance and oversight of the principal contractor's environmental performance across a varied section of the route. You'll be involved in a wide range of environmental disciplines including ecology, landscape, archaeology, air quality, noise and vibration, water, soils and environmental compliance.
Essential Requirements:
Experience working within environmental management on major infrastructure or construction projects.
A broad understanding across multiple environmental disciplines rather than a narrow technical specialism.
Experience working with NEC or similar construction contracts.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
The confidence to challenge contractors and influence positive outcomes.
A pragmatic, solutions-focused approach to environmental management.
Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel across site locations.
Desirable
Experience working in a client-side assurance role.
Experience with environmental incidents, early warnings, technical queries or contractual compliance.
Experience across rail, highways or other major civil engineering projects.
This is an excellent opportunity to join one of the UK's largest infrastructure projects where no two days are the same. You'll gain exposure to a huge range of environmental challenges while working alongside experienced specialists in a collaborative team. With work expected to continue well beyond the current programme, this role offers genuine long-term career development and opportunities to progress across the wider HS2 programme.
