Hardware Engineer – Defence Technology- Hampshire- £80,000
We're looking for a Hardware Engineer to join a dynamic team delivering innovative technology solutions for Defence customers. This role involves designing, deploying, and supporting hardware and infrastructure that underpin mission-critical systems and capabilities.
Key Responsibilities
* Design, build, and maintain physical and virtual infrastructure environments.
* Support hardware development, deployment, testing, and demonstrations.
* Design and implement LAN, WAN, and VLAN networks.
* Install, configure, and maintain Windows Server and Linux environments.
* Manage virtualisation platforms such as VMware ESXi and Microsoft Hyper-V.
* Configure and maintain firewall platforms and security controls.
* Manage hardware lifecycle activities, upgrades, and capacity planning.
* Maintain hardware inventory, asset tracking, and technical documentation.
* Collaborate with technical teams and engage with customers and stakeholders.
About You
* Proven experience delivering and supporting hardware and infrastructure solutions in Defence, government, or commercial environments.
* Strong knowledge of networking, hardware, virtualisation, and Windows/Linux administration.
* Experience supporting systems in live operational environments.
* Understanding of Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and security best practices.
* Comfortable communicating technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
* Familiarity with Continuous Integration and source control tools is desirable.
