Penguin Recruitment is delighted to be supporting a leading independent planning consultancy based in Edinburgh in their search for a Town Planner with 2+ years of post-graduate experience to join their growing team.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established and forward-thinking planning practice working on a diverse range of projects across residential, commercial, mixed-use and regeneration sectors. The role offers strong exposure to high-quality work, client interaction, and clear progression within a supportive environment.

The Role

As a Town Planner, you will:

Assist in the preparation and submission of planning applications and appeals
Support senior planners on a variety of development projects across Scotland and the UK
Undertake site appraisals, research and planning policy analysis
Engage with clients, local authorities and stakeholders
Contribute to project management and delivery of planning strategiesAbout You

2+ years' experience in town planning (private or public sector considered)
RTPI accredited degree (or equivalent)
Strong understanding of Scottish planning policy and development management processes
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to manage workload and work collaboratively within a teamWhat's on Offer
