Southampton, Hampshire, United Kingdom
Construction
Immediate Start
£60k - £80k Annual
Full-Time
Estimator
I am currently recruiting for an Estimator to join a well-established, privately owned contractor with an annual turnover of approximately £65 million. The business operates across several profitable divisions, with this opportunity sitting within the Building & Refurbishment team.
The division delivers projects ranging in value from £5,000 to £1.5 million, including refurbishment, maintenance and construction works for a number of high-profile organisations across Southampton. The company has built long-standing relationships with Tier 1 contractors, local authorities, schools and universities, resulting in a strong pipeline of repeat business supported by a trusted supply chain.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a stable, growing business that values long-term career development. The successful candidate will be joining the team as part of a planned retirement, with the current postholder having enjoyed a long and successful career with the company.
The Role
As an Estimator, you will be responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates and supporting projects from initial enquiry through to delivery. Key responsibilities include:
* Preparing detailed cost estimates for proposed projects and pricing completed works.
* Undertaking site visits and surveys to assess project requirements.
* Liaising with internal departments, clients, subcontractors, suppliers and statutory authorities throughout the estimating process.
* Preparing initial project plans and programmes.
* Producing financial milestone payment schedules and monitoring project finances.
* Appointing subcontractors and assisting with the procurement of materials.
* Working closely with specialist subcontractors and consultants to obtain technical advice where required.
* Attending project start-up meetings and providing commercial support during project mobilisation.
This role would suit an Estimator looking for a long-term opportunity within a financially secure business that offers genuine stability, a collaborative working environment and the chance to work on a varied portfolio of refurbishment and construction projects
